Job Description

This role is a 60/40 split between first level end user support and systems administration/2nd level support. The end-user support portion of this role is to assist in resolving issues as well as handling more challenging technical issues or those requiring changes to client systems or process. The remainder of the time will be spent monitoring and maintaining client infrastructure and systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to create and maintain solutions for internal IT use, as well as end user documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills (for handling escalations)
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis when troubleshooting potential system problems
  • Strong desire to learn and implement new technologies
  • Excellent problem solving and reasoning skills

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 2 years working in the IT field
  • At least 1 year working directly with end users in a support role
  • Experiencing working with a variety of operating systems and platforms
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows platforms (Desktop and Server)
  • Proficient working with mobile technologies and platforms such as iOS, Android and Blackberry
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts (Routing, VLANs, IP addressing, etc.)
  • Experience deploying and configuring network hardware (switches, routers, wireless access points, etc.) –
  • Under direction of senior support specialist
